History of Ten

Ten was founded in 1998 by Alex Cheatle and Andrew Long as a small operation with a compelling vision – to provide personalised service that would help its members get the most from life.

Pioneering the private and corporate concierge market

We began by providing a pioneering lifestyle concierge service to 20 members in London. The more requests we took on, the better we got. As our reputation, contacts and expertise grew, we expanded our private membership base. In 2001 we won our first corporate contract to provide concierge on behalf of a major banking group. We now run over 70 customer/employee loyalty schemes with more than 800,000 members.

Applying our model to professional support

In 2005 we transferred our groundbreaking service model to professional support services by setting up The Key. This service provides expert, practical information to school leaders and helps them to run their schools more effectively. Our second professional support service, Governor Base, a service for school governors, was launched in 2011. Further services for GPs, children’s services and social workers are currently in development.

Rapid global growth and one million requests...

Ten’s global growth accelerated rapidly from 2007. We’ve opened offices in San Francisco, New York and Hong Kong (in addition to London and Maidenhead in the UK) and now have over 350 staff spread over our 5 offices. In 2008 we were placed 64th in the Fast Track 100 ranking of Britain's fastest-growing private companies. In August 2010, Ten celebrated an important milestone, completing our one millionth member request. Our business is growing so rapidly that we are due to complete our two millionth job in December 2011.

Their expertise and experience is efficiently and intelligently shared across our staff via our bespoke knowledge management systems.
